Our Residents

A Note from Chief Residents

We are Alvin and Lauren: PGY5s and soon-to-be outgoing Chief Residents. We feel lucky to be part of the Mac Emerg family, which includes a supportive group of fun, smart, and thoughtful residents with diverse interests, as well as a renowned faculty that's deeply invested in residents becoming the best possible physicians. As the city is home to individuals of a variety of socioeconomic statuses, the Emergency Department is often the first point of contact for those needing care, allowing us to make a deep and lasting impact. We are more than happy to talk to answer any questions you have about Mac EM or Hamilton: current and future Emerg docs are an unflappable crew!

Life in Hamilton

Where pretty meets gritty is where you'll find Hamilton:
an industrious port city nestled on the western tip of Lake Ontario and ridged by what locals call "The Mountain".

It's the city of waterfalls and the birthplace of Tim Hortons, where Pigskin Pete is real and "Oskee wee wee" cuts the night sky during football season, and where art collides with culture and the culinary scene in ways that make you feel privy to a well-kept secret.
